Today we live in a world where you see all types of couples. Black & white couple, Asian & Dominicans & so on & so forth. When two people fall in love with each other and they wanna settle down and start a family. But why can't gays & lesbians get married? it isn't fair that two people who are deeply in love with each other can't get married. Just because they are the same sex doesn't mean anything. LOVE HAS NO GENDER. LOVE IS LOVE. & if being gay is a sin you have to ask yourself if being gay is a sin does it matter. We sin everyday in our lives. People have to stop being so closed minded and start seeing the world the way it really is. (Scenario#1) What if you had a friend. Not just any friend. Someone who has been there for you for a long time & they tell you that they are gay. Are you going to end a friendship based on their orientation or just accept the fact they are being honest with you & you are going to accept them for who they are. (Scenario#2) What if you had a son or a daughter & they come up to you & tell you that they have feeling for the same sex. Are you going disown your own blood your own child? Or are you gonna accept the fact that your daughter or son is being honest and not keeping secrets from you?
We should love & treat people fairly. Everyone in the world is different. We might be similar or alike but we are DIFFERENT.
We shouldn't judge people based on their orientation, color, religion, & ect
We should only judge people based on their character.
I know a lot of people who are gay or lesbians
but i don't judged them on their orientation.
We have to treat people the same way we want to be treated.
Everyone is different.
So why not them.

just to start off let me say Im neither for nor against gay marriage rights etc. It doesn't affect me or anyone in my immediate family so that is the stance I have taken.
ReplyDeleteI don't see a problem with people having the rights and benefits of being married but I think its the word. People do not want to associate their man/woman marriage with a woman/woman or man/man marriage. A lot of the people against gay marriage are hung up on that issue. The fact of being placed in the same category with gays and lesbians. If they decided to call it something different and give all of the benefits of marriage with a different name for the union people might be willing to come to the table to compromise. When people say "I'm married" that means something. A lot of people would not like to have the meaning of the word marriage changed.
